Operation of a 1 MW solar power plant in Rafsanjan
On the fourth day of the dawn of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Energy, the 1 MW solar power plant, which was built in the form of a contract for the guaranteed purchase of renewable electricity with the investment of a non-governmental education institution of Rafsanjan, was put into operation.

According to the SATBA Office of Public Relations and International Affairs, the head of the Renewable Energy and Electricity Efficiency Organization, who traveled to Kerman province, inaugurated the power plant on February 4, 2020 at Non-Profit Education Institute of Rafsanjan.
According to the director of this institute, currently 600 students in associate, bachelor and master degrees are studying in technical and engineering fields in this institute and with the construction of this solar power plant, while providing the current expenses of the institute from the financial resources resulting from the contract for the guaranteed purchase of renewable electricity, various technical issues in the structure and components of the solar power plant are used for research by students.
The report adds that Kerman province is one of the leading provinces in Iran in terms of construction of 11 MW solar power plants with a capacity of about 50 MW and commissioning of 1266 rooftop solar systems (mainly in villages in deprived areas) and also 13 solar power plant projects under construction.
