Chief of Iran's department of environment:
We are supporting the development of utilizing the renewable energy in the country
The vice president and chief of Iran's department of environment said: all kind of support and follow up through governmental approvals required for the development of renewable energy will be implemented precisely.
According to the public relations of renewable energy organization of Iran (SUNA), Dr. Ebtekar by visiting the solar power plant in Hamedan province, mentioned about the benefits of these sort of power plants such as economic advantage, saving fuel, reduce the air pollution and help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the effects of climate changes in line with the international community.
She said: last year the government adopted the policy of low-carbon economy and attached it to the sixth development plan of the country as well.
Because of air pollution reduction, energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, it seems requisite and hereupon it should be considered as a serious and significant policy in the country.
The vice president adds, our country has great potential in the field of solar energy and we have good radiation and also great infrastructure and human resources that makes Iran as a good opportunity in the international market for investment in the field of renewable energy specially solar sector, so it is a good opportunity for our country to reduce the air pollution.
She said that investment in this area is a national advantage and we are trying to support development of solar technology in level of houses as well. It is worth mentioning, Amir Kabir and Persian Gulf power plants are the biggest solar power plants in the country with the total capacity of 14 MW.
