Today a workshop was held in Shahid Motahari hall in the place of renewable energy organization of Iran with the subject of understanding the process of generating electricity by waste heat recovery in industrial process and guaranteed power purchase from these power plants. This work shop was held with the support of renewable energy organization of Iran (SUNA) and energy efficiency organization of Iran (SABA).
According to the public relations of renewable energy organization of Iran (SUNA), this workshop was held in line with informing the industrialists and administrators involved in industrial and manufacturing matters and reducing the demand for electrical energy in various industries in the country.
The main topics covered in this workshop were introducing the existing potentials, advantages and technical topics related to the waste heat recovery power plants, guaranteed power purchase from these kinds of power plants, clean development mechanism (CDM) and the ability to use it in waste heat recovery design and ultimately successful experiences regarding the amount of waste heat recovery power plants in Iran.
This workshop was held with the presence of more than 100 managers from main industrial sectors such as metal industry, non- metallic (cement, coke, glass, etc.), petrochemical, chemical (acids, etc.), agro-industry (sugar cane, etc.) and food industries, contractors, consultants, institutions and investors in this area. Moreover with the presence of representatives from management and planning organization of Iran, distribution companies and Tavanir company. It is worth mentioning, renewable energy organization of Iran (SUNA) will purchase the generated electricity from waste heat recovery in industrial processes based on the act announced by the minister of energy.
