Chinese Investment in the field of Solar Energy in Iran

According to the report from public relations of Renewable Energy organization of Iran (SUNA), a meeting was held with the presence of SUNA's deputy of planning and development, manager of non-governmental partnerships office and some experts of SUNA, and ZTE representatives from China. ZTE Company emphasized on its determination to invest in the field of solar energy in Iran. At the beginning of the meeting SUNA's managers explained the process of investment and Mr. Zafranchi responded their questions on Iran's program for the development of Renewables, taxes and power purchase in Rials.
According to this report ZTE Company started its activity in 1980 in the field of Telecommunications, Satellite and Cell phones and at the moment it is China's second largest brand in producing photovoltaic panels. The company has 140 branches in different countries and more than 60000 employees. The company started its activity in the field of solar energy since 2007 and installed 1000 MW capacity in China. Since 2015 that China's approach and policy was changed and active companies in this field were encouraged to work outside of China, 900 MW project is under construction by this company in Pakistan. It is worth mentioning that 300 MW of the project is already connected to the grid in June. It should be noted that all projects of the company are funded by the Development Bank of China and Export-Import Bank of China. This company aims to transfer the best panels and up to date technology to Iran and invest in the field of the solar power plant with the capacity of 500 MW.
