In the 37th week of Ministry’s A-B-Iran program, a solar power plant with a capacity of more than 10 megawatt was inaugurated in the Chadormalu area of Yazd province by Minister of Energy in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA.
According to Public Relations and International Affairs Office, the 10 MW solar power plant located in Chadormalu was inaugurated by the Minister of Energy in the presence of Mohammad Satkin, Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA Organization.
The power plants will save about 5 million cubic meters of fuel equivalent to natural gas and prevent the emission of 12088 tons of carbon dioxide by generating more than 17.5 gigawatt-hours of energy per year.
It is worth mentioning that the construction of these power plants has created direct and indirect jobs for 20 and 55 people respectively. In addition to saving 3854 cubic meters of water, it has caused economic prosperity in the areas under construction.
According to the report, the total capacity of multi-megawatt power plants in Yazd province reached 71.5 megawatt and considering the capacity of solar power plants limited to subscription generation, the total capacity of renewable power plants in this region increased to 75 megawatt.
Yazd province, with its high potential for the construction of renewable power plants, having the appropriate technical infrastructure and effective interaction between organizations, is one of the leading provinces in the field of construction of renewable power plants.
