In the 14th week of “Every Week-A-B-Campaign, solar power plants with a total capacity of more than 21 MW in Damavand and Shahr-e Rey cities were inaugurated by the President, the Minister of Energy, and the Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of the SATBA on Tuesday 28th January 2020
According to SATBA’s Public Relations and International Affairs Office, 2 solar power plants located in Hassanabad Shahr-e Rey (12.7 MW) and one in Damavand city (8.4 MW) in Tehran province inaugurated by the order of the president Rouhani, Dr. Ardakanian Minister of Energy and Dr. Sadeghzadeh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA.
More than 1370 billion riyals have been invested in the construction of the power plants, which will generate more than 34 gigawatt hour electricity annually. It helps to save about 12 million cubic meters of fuel equivalent to natural gas and prevents the emission of 28794 tonnes of CO2. It is noteworthy that the construction of these power plants has created economic prosperity in the region because in addition to the storage of 9180 cubic meters of water it has brought 130 direct and indirect jobs.
Tehran Province is one of the leading provinces in the field of renewable power plants with 8 renewable power plants with total capacity of more than 30 MW. 58 solar generators with a capacity of 831 kW have been built for residential and industrial use in the province.
According to the report, with the opening of the mentioned power plants, the number of solar power plants has reached 55. It is worth mentioning that there are currently 3649 solar power generators with a total capacity of 40145 kW are operating.
