Mr. President talked about providing a public movement in the country in order to develop renewable power plants in villages and cities at the opening ceremony of Hasan Abad power plant construction in Shahre-Rey due to a video conference.
Public Relations and International Affairs of SATBA reports that Today, January 28th, at the beginning of this ceremony due to a video conference, Dr. Sadeghzadeh, mentioned that this power plant is the 55th renewable power plant during the present government in Iran and added that the first solar power plant in Megawatt scale is installed for the first time in the present government and its development resulted in having the technology of installing more of these power plants in Iran. He also added that we have three solar cell manufacture factories, two solar inverter manufacture factories and seven production lines for other solar equipment and technologies in Iran and through using high potential of sun radiation and localized technologies together with the knowhow of Iranian engineers, we can provide a share of main infrastructure of the country that is power without the need of fuel and water.
Head of SATBA said that the construction of the aforementioned solar power plant with a total capacity of 21.1 MW was in line with the development of renewable and clean power plants. He added that in addition to megawatt scale power plants, 4200 small-scale power plants have also constructed mainly in rural and deprived areas of the country. They have created jobs and provided livelihoods of areas hit by droughts. We intent to add more than 100,000 power plants in the coming years to be built on a kilowatt scale.
After giving a report, President Rouhani mentioned the environmental achievements derived from the development of renewable power plants including reducing the greenhouse gases, preventing fossil fuel consumption and reducing water consumption and said: Using this technology will be of great importance for today’s world and Iran’s future. Having expressed hope for this public movement in Iran in the field of development of renewable power plants in villages and cities, Mr. President added that we hope that in future not only people can provide power in their houses via installation of small solar power plants but they can also sell electricity to the government.
At the end, having mentioned that the installation of the 55th solar power plant in his government is satisfying, President Rouhani urged to open Hasan Abad solar power plant.
