In the thirteenth week of “Every Week-A-B-Campaign, a 7 MW solar power plant was launched in Kaboodar-Ahang city in Hamedan province by Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA
According to Public Relations of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), 7-MW solar power plant constructed by the private sector in Kaboodar-Ahang city was inaugurated by H.E. Ardakanian and the presence of Dr. Sadeghzadeh.
The solar power plant is constructed on a 14-hectare site that can generate 11.5 gigawatt hour electricity annually. Injecting this amount of energy into the grid will save 3 million liters of water consumption and 4 million cubic meters of fossil fuel consumption and prevent the emission of 9598 tonnes of greenhouse gas per year.
It is worth mentioning that the power plant creates 107 direct and indirect jobs at the time of construction and operation for the local people.
Hamadan province has the potential for high solar radiation along with appropriate air temperature as one of the favorable provinces in the country for constructing solar power plants. The capacity of renewable power plants constructed in Hamadan province is currently 48.6 megawatt, and 28 units of solar rooftops have been built in the province and connected to the country's national electricity grid.
