Join meeting of SATBA and the representatives of power distribution companies was held at SATBA to discuss inter-organizational coordination and review of new Ministry of Energy regulations on power plants limited to the connection capacity.According to Public Relations and International Affairs Office of SATBA, this meeting was held to review the new regulations approved by the Ministry of Energy regarding the purchase of subscriber generators, inter-organizational coordination and a comprehensive power plant on 4th of December 2019. At the meeting 50 technical experts in the field of renewable energy development from power distribution companies were present.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Zafranchizadeh, deputy of Non-governmental development sector explained the perspective of the aforementioned legislation and added: “In the new resolution it is possible to increase the capacity of the generators for subscribers up to twice the capacity of connection capacity and subscribers that have operated this capacity partially can apply for new capacities under a separate contract. He also said SATBA has the authority to purchase power generated by charities to supply energy to school buildings and educational institutions at rates announced in the recent law.
Mr. Loni, Director General of Compilation and Facilitation of Regulations Office, while presenting figures on the development of renewable energy mentioned that the aim of these meetings is to enhance SATBA engagement with provincial electricity distribution companies, inter-organizational coordination to resolve problems with subscriber contracts, and thinking of upgrading the electronic registration system and billing of generators limited to the subscriber capacity.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of power distribution companies discussed some of the challenges regarding the technical and legal aspects of the registration, construction, operation and billing process, and the parties emphasized the need to hold the meeting periodically and after gathering their views and opinions.
