Atlas of Energy Efficiency in Electricity Sector of Iran which is prepared by Energy Potential and Resource Assessment Department of SATBA was uploaded on the website.
Public Relations and International Affairs Office of SATBA reported that in order to make policy makers, investors and researchers in the field of energy efficiency informed of capability and competency of various provinces and regions in the field of industry as well as introducing sub-branches in each province, Energy Potential and Resource Assessment Department of SATBA prepared "Atlas of Energy Efficiency in Electricity Sector of Iran". It is uploaded on SATBA’s website for professional use.
According to this report, the electricity consumption data of different provincial industry subdivisions have been used in the preparation of this Atlas, based on data from the Statistical Centre of Iran. The electricity consumption of different industries is classified into provinces, then considering the expected potential efficiency of each of the subcategories, the total potential of industrial electricity efficiency in the provinces is calculated. To this end, energy audit information, optimization maps under different branches and official reports published in this field have been used.
In addition, the provinces of the country are categorized according to the potential of energy efficiency in different industries and this distinction is marked by different color spectra.
The industry sector with over 84.000 thousand GWhgigawatt hour power consumption is one of the most consuming sectors in Iran, accounting for about 33 percent of the country's electricity consumption. Considering this issue as well as the environmental necessities, the necessity of optimizing energy consumption in this sector is evident. Energy efficiency will also eliminate the cost of setting up new power plants and will contribute to efficient employment.
