During the presidential visit to Kerman province, 10 MW solar power plant was launched in Baft city in Kerman province with presence of Dr. Sadeghzadeh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA
Based on SATBA Public Relations and International Affairs Office, the 10 MW solar power plant was launched in Baft city with the presence of Dr. Sadeghzadeh and a group of managers of Kerman Regional Electricity and Electricity Distribution Companies and local authorities. The construction of the power plant was funded by the private sector, with a total investment of 500 billion Rials. The power plants has created 70 direct and indirect jobs at the time of construction and operation.
According to the report, the power plant using indigenous and local technology and applying the capabilities of Iranian designers, injects 16 Gigawatt hour electricity to the national electricity grid. It prevents the emission of 13,712 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. The project will also prevent the evaporation of 4371 cubic meters of water used in electricity production annually, and will save fossil fuel reserves by saving 5.64 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
Kerman province with high radiant solar potential is one of the regions with great solar energy source. The capacity of the renewable power plants installed in the province is about 50 MW. This capacity belongs to solar power plants only. There are 986 units of solar rooftops with the total capacity of 9275 kilowatt installed in this province as well.
