14 power plants are ready to be launched in 7 different provinces during the Government Week, the spokesman of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) announced.
According to Public Relations Office of SATBA, Jafar Mohammadnejad pointed to the most important plans of the organization in Government Week and stated: “These 14 renewable power plants projects will be operational in 7 provinces of Iran: East Azerbaijan, Tehran, Hamedan, Zanjan, Yazd, Kerman and Fars.”
He continued that the mentioned projects include one wind power plant and 13 solar power plants with a cumulative capacity of 159 MW that have been implemented and operated by private sector.
The official noted that over 445 billion Tomans plus €107 million have been funded for completing and operating these projects. Putting these power plants in operation has created more than 1270 job opportunities across Iran.
Mr. Mohammadnejad put the current capacity of renewable power plants in the country at about 760 MW, adding that currently the construction is ongoing. 32 power plants in megawatt scale will be added to the renewable capacity which is equivalent to 380 MW.
