The first solar power plant in Sistan & Balouchestan Province was constructed with a capacity of 10 MW/ Official opening ceremony will be held soon
According to SATBA’s public relations, this power plant which has been constructed in Zahedan, annually generates 17 million kWh of electricity and connects it to the national grid, and prevents the emission of about 14000 tons of carbon dioxide, saving 6 million cubic meters of natural gas, and water conservation will amount to 4370 cubic meters per year. The report adds the investment made in this project is equivalent to 11 million Euros which is funded by the Bank of Industry and Mine from the National Development Fund. The power plant was installed in one of the country's underdeveloped areas, created jobs for 200 indigenous laborers over a six-month period. It was coupled with the domestic training human force by German contractors. Furthermore, the construction of this power plant has led to permanent job creation for 15 people throughout the operation period.
