Dr. Jahangiri pointed out that we must move towards clean energies. Renewable energy conservation is the main and significant policies of the government. According to the SATBA’s public relations, Dr. Jahangiri spoke on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 10 MW solar power plant in Yazd, and pointed out that the great activities are being done in Iran, and we have made a good progress in development.
He mentioned that the best examples of the private sector’s entry in Iran are renewable power plants, it means that it’s a great job that the private sectors invest, generate electricity, and sell it to Iran’s Ministry of Energy. It must be admitted that good works have been done and we have seen growth in the field of renewable energy and support it comprehensively as well.
He added: the private sector may have this concern that the end-user is the government and the Ministry of Energy may not receive an amount of generated electricity sales in a timely manner, but confidently it can be said that the government makes a commitment to pay you.
The first Vice-President added that we must move towards clean energies. Fortunately, this policy has been adopted and it continues in Iran. He mentioned that electricity subscribers purchase the household electricity for 40 Tomans from Ministry of Energy on average. Instead for electricity generation from renewable sources, they will receive 370 Tomans on average from Ministry of Energy. Since renewable energy is clean and sustainable, the government supports the development of these types of power plants.
Dr. Jahangiri pointed out that Iran has a lot of potential for constructing these types of power plants and Ministry of Energy must strive to reduce total cost of investment in renewable power plants.
